The WSC Competitive program is designed for players with exceptional soccer skills who can represent the Club in various competitive leagues. These leagues consist of Club teams from different districts and therefore more traveling is required than in the house league program. The Woodbridge Strikers have boys and girls teams in the U8 to U18 age groups as well as 6 adult teams.
For contact information of the coach or manager, please see the contact list below.
Commitment
Competitive teams generally practice 2-3 times a week plus a game. The amount of travel depends on the age division and level the team plays at. Competitive teams operate year round with training and/or league play during the winter as well. Most competitive teams also plan to attend various tournaments throughout the season which may require outside of the province traveling.
Leagues
- The U8 to U18 WSC teams play in the York Region Youth Soccer League (YRSL)
- The Woodbridge Soccer Club also has teams that compete in the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) against teams across Ontario. The age divisions that we have teams in this league are: U13 to U17
Cost
The registration fee for the competitive teams is significantly greater than registration for the house league program. This is due to the higher cost of registration, league fees, uniforms, training, fields and referees for competitive teams.
How do I join a Competitive team?
Open tryouts for the competitive teams are held in the spring and fall. The dates of these open tryouts are published on the website once they have been finalized. If you would like more information on details for a specific team or would like to arrange a different tryout date, you can contact the team coach or manager in the corresponding “Rep Coaches” in the Rep (U13-U18) menu above. Fo more information on which teams are still looking for players, please contact the club directly.
Coaching
If you are interested in becoming a competitive coach with the Woodbridge Strikers, please fill out the Coaches Application and it will be submitted to Technical Director, Peter Pinizzotto.
